Designing a bedroom with Childrens
Furniture that will grow with your Child
There's no need to completely replace your current childrens
furniture set as he or she moves from infant to toddler to teen.
You can create an enchanting child's bedroom with childrens furniture
that evolves, reflecting both age and interests over the years.
You can do this without spending a small fortune on all new childrens
room furniture.
It is quite simple to create a room that will stand the test
of time for your son or daughter. First, invest in a good quality
foundation; remember you get what you pay for. If you want childrens
furniture that will last, you need to spend more; in the long
run it will save you money!
Quality baby
furniture sets usually includes high quality wooden baby cribs
and dressers that will last. Consider purchasing a Convertible
Crib, it will grow from crib, to a daybed for a toddler, and then
to a full size bed. A convertible crib is a long term investment.
Not only will it save you money on a toddler bed but you can utilize
the same kids
bedding that you used with the crib. All you have to do is
remove the bumper pads and add some fun decorative throw pillows.
To plan ahead it would also be wise to invest in some luxury
baby bedding, if you plan to use it on a toddler bed as well.
The other option is to shop for a toddler bed that matches your
existing furniture, and then you are not replacing a room full
of furniture. Also, for the ultimate room that grows, use carpet
or flooring in a color and quality that can be included in changing
the color scheme for your growing child.
Second, reflect the child's age and personality in things that
are easy and less expensive to change rather than focusing on
a whole new set of childrens furniture. Change knobs on dressers
and armoires on your existing baby furniture as your child's interest
moves from teddy bears to princesses. Also, you can trade in the
baby bedding for a new bedcover for a toddler bed. A brand new
carpet or flooring is costly and may not suit the taste of your
teen but the throw rug, bedcover, or draperies are easy to switch
for something trendier in your child's eye.
The fundamentals that follow are great opportunities to give
a room lively character suited to your child, and they're easy
to update. Exchanging pink walls for lavender costs no more than
a can of paint. Whimsical drawer knobs can please a growing toddler,
but when she grows up; replace them with something more hip. Beyond
just changing your kids bedding you can change so many things,
lampshades, storage bins and wall accessories. Just remember
invest
in good quality, versatile furniture that will be the building
blocks to designing a bedroom with childrens furniture that will
grow with your child, from baby to teen.
